There is a profound tension between internal and external forces on the human entity. This conflict of opposing forces has a great influence on the trajectory of our evolution as a species.

The body is a vessel for life and the skin a lining that clothes it. From within it we interact and experience the external world. But the body itself is ancient, and it struggles to withhold the life within it; the higher human consciousness which can reach outside of it and experience, free from the corporeal limits of its fleshy fabric. As a species we have always been seduced by the possibilities the human intellect and imagination provides us with. From individual being to universal matter, a struggle between forces to maintain balance and harmony is at the crux of existence. The relationship of the body and the mind are no different.

Humankind is approaching a stage where it must consider the concept of the post-human. We are forced to confront the acquiescence of our primitive past to an era of technology and trans-human possibilities. We must consider a new type of birth and death, a new way of experiencing phenomena.
