Grace McEvoy is a lens-based artist based in Limerick, Ireland.  BA in Fine Art Photography, Film & Video from Limerick School of Art and Design.

Drawing from influences such as fine art cinema, postmodern philosophy and psychology, her work is an examination of the obscure phenomena and strange contradictions in modern human life. She combines visual art practice with in-depth analysis of the scientific, sociological and political factors that influence and inform it.

​

She explores themes such as consumption, exploitation, mental anguish and the relationship between these elements and how they affect the individual, as well as the processes that underpin and create them. Another enduring theme is technological progress and its effects on the trajectory of human evolution; the clash between the primitive animal and its place in modern society.

Grace works with both still photography and film, utilising digital media and audio in the production of her work. Her most recent solo piece, #000000, is a large-scale multi-screen installation accompanied by an abrasive, bass-heavy audio piece. The piece was exhibited in June 2018 as part of the LSAD graduate show and for the 2018 Inspirational Arts Awards.

She has participated in various group exhibitions and has collaborated on projects with musicians and other artists. Her most recent collaborative piece is a short film by the Echtrae (collaboration with Conor Coady, performance artist and winner of the BCA Emerging Artist Residency Award).
